Incentives are always created within a campaign and tied to specific creators. You can set the same incentive for all creators at the campaign level, or assign custom incentives to individuals.
For an overview of all incentive types and integrations, see Incentives Overview.
Campaign-Level Incentives
Use campaign-level incentives when all creators should receive the same reward.
- In Later Influence, open your campaign in Draft mode and select the Setup tab
- Select Incentives, then select the Add Incentive
- Choose an incentive type
- Fill in the description, value, cost, and fulfillment stage
- Select Save
Every creator added to the campaign inherits these incentives automatically.
Creator-Specific Incentives
Use creator-specific incentives when individual creators need different rewards.
- In Later Influence, open your campaign and select the Workflow tab
- Locate the creator and select the |← arrow to open their campaign details
- Select the Incentives tab, then select + Add Incentive
- Choose the incentive type and fill in the details
- Select Save
Incentive Types and Setup
Cash (Stripe)
Direct bank transfers processed through Later. Set up at the campaign level or creator level, selecting Cash as the type and Direct Deposit via Stripe as the delivery method. See Compensating Creators: Stripe Incentives for full setup and payment instructions.
Cash (Offline)
Use offline cash to track payments made outside Later — bank transfers, PayPal, ACH, wire, or any other external method. Later records the incentive details and fulfillment status but does not process the payment.
- In Later Influence, open your campaign and select Setup → Incentives
- Select Add Incentive then select Cash as the incentive type
- Select Offline as the payment method
- Enter the description, value, cost, and fulfillment stage (Pre-Payment, Post-Payment, or leave blank)
- Select Save
Once you've sent payment outside the platform, locate the incentive in the Incentives tab and set it to Fulfilled manually.
Product
Product incentives track physical goods sent to creators. Setup steps and tracking number management are covered in Product Incentives. If you use Shopify, see Shopify Codes for the integration setup.
Promo Codes
Promo code incentives assign unique discount codes to creators for their own use. Codes are generated in your e-commerce platform and uploaded to Later. See Incentives: Promo Codes for full setup instructions.
Gift Card (Offline)
Use offline gift cards to track cards sent outside of Later — physical gift cards by mail, or digital cards through another service.
- In Later Influence, open your campaign and select Setup → Incentives
- Select Add Incentive, then select Gift Card as the incentive type
- Select Offline as the payment method
- Enter the description, value, cost, and fulfillment stage
- Select Save
To send physical cards by mail, collect shipping addresses through the campaign confirmation process. To send digital cards via another service, export creator emails from the relevant workflow stage.
For Tango Card-integrated gift cards, see Tango Card Integration: Gift Card Incentives.
Gift Card (Tango Card)
Digital gift cards delivered automatically via the Tango Card integration. See Tango Card Integration: Gift Card Incentives for setup instructions.
Rate-Based Incentives
When the Rate feature is enabled on a campaign application, creators propose their own rates. After accepting a creator, manually create a cash incentive for the amount they quoted. See Rates and Concepts for the full workflow.
Other
Use the Other type for custom rewards that don't fit standard categories — event tickets, travel reimbursements, or unique perks. Setup follows the same form fields as offline cash incentives: description, value, cost, and fulfillment stage. Actual delivery happens outside the platform; Later tracks the status manually.
Fulfillment Stage
When creating an incentive, the Fulfillment field sets which workflow stage automatically marks the incentive as Ready (Pre-Payment or Post-Payment). Leave it blank if you prefer to prepare incentives manually.
For the complete fulfillment process, see Incentive Fulfillment.
Value vs. Cost
All incentive types include separate fields for Value (retail value shown to creators) and Cost (actual cost to your brand used for reporting). Only the cost field feeds into cost-reporting metrics like CPE, CPM, and CPP.
