Promo code incentives reward creators with unique discount codes for their own use, such as free products, discounted orders, or comped purchases through your e-commerce system.
How Promo Code Incentives Work
Codes are generated in your e-commerce platform (Shopify, WooCommerce, or similar) and uploaded to Later. Each code is unique and automatically assigned to one creator. You control when creators receive their code (tied to a workflow stage), plus the value and cost for ROI reporting.
Upload Promo Codes
- In Later Influence, open your campaign and select Setup → Incentives
- Select Add Incentive, then select Promo Code as the incentive type
- Enter an influencer-facing description, value, and cost
- Select the fulfillment stage (Pre-Payment or Post-Payment)
- Paste in your promo codes (one line per code)
- Select Save
The platform validates that you have enough codes for all creators in the campaign. You'll see an error or warning if the number of codes is insufficient.
Assign Promo Codes
Once uploaded, codes are assigned to creators automatically when they enter the workflow stage linked to the incentive. You can also assign or fulfill them manually from the Incentives tab.
Track Promo Code Usage
Promo code details are visible in the creator's Incentives tab in their campaign details, and can be exported from the Incentives tab. The export includes each creator's assigned code.
Best Practices
- Generate enough unique codes for all expected participants before uploading — you can't reuse codes.
- Use the value and cost fields accurately to ensure your CPE and CPM calculations reflect the real cost of the campaign.
