Incentives are rewards you give to creators for participating in your campaigns—like payments, products, or promo codes.
Later Influence makes it easy to set up, deliver, and track these rewards in one place, so you can keep your creator programs organized and report on costs and performance automatically.
Whether you’re sending cash payments, shipping free products, or offering discount codes, all incentives in Later follow the same simple workflow: Setup → Fulfillment → Reporting.
Why Incentives Matter
Incentives help you:
- Motivate creators by clearly defining what they’ll receive.
- Track campaign costs in real time for transparent budgeting.
- Report ROI automatically — metrics like cost per engagement (CPE) and cost per post (CPP) update as incentives are fulfilled.
- Centralize creator payments and rewards so everything is logged in one system.
Incentive Types in Later Influence
Later Influence supports multiple incentive types to fit every kind of creator reward.

Incentive Setup
Incentives are always created within a campaign and linked to a specific creator. There are three main ways to set them up. For detailed steps, see Incentive Setup.
-
Campaign-Level Incentives
- Add a single incentive for all participating creators.
- Note: Each creator automatically receives the same reward when they’re added to the campaign.
- Example: All creators receive a $150 Stripe payment or a $50 gift card.
-
Creator-Specific Incentives
- Add unique incentives to individual creators directly from the Workflow tab in your campaign.
- Customize reward amounts or types on a per-creator basis.
- Example: One creator receives $200; another receives a $100 gift card.
-
Rate & Concept Incentives
- If your campaign application includes a Rate question, creators can enter their preferred payment amount.
- When approved, Later automatically creates an incentive for their quoted rate.
- Example: A creator applies with a $250 rate, which generates a $250 incentive tied to their campaign record.
Incentive Fulfillment
Each incentive has a fulfillment status that updates automatically as the creator moves through your workflow. Statuses help you track delivery progress and report costs accurately.
- Pending → Incentive created but not yet confirmed.
- Ready → Incentive is due — ready for payment or delivery.
- Fulfilled → The incentive has been delivered or paid.
- Failed/Returned → Payment or delivery was unsuccessful and needs review.
Incentive Reporting
Once incentives are fulfilled, Later automatically tracks and reports their costs in real time.
- Total campaign cost
- CPE (Cost per Engagement)
- CPM (Cost per 1,000 impressions)
- CPP (Cost per Post)
- ROI and EMV (Earned Media Value)
Where to View Incentive Data
- Reports → Overview tab – view totals across all campaigns
- Campaign Performance tab – see detailed cost, engagement, and ROI metrics
- Incentives – manage all payments, shipments, and codes in one place
The Creator Experience
Creators can view their incentive details directly in their Campaign Manager, including:
- Reward type and value
- Fulfillment stage (e.g., “Ready for Payment”)
- Delivery details or promo codes
When an incentive is integrated, creators receive it in the following ways:
- Stripe Payments → sent to their verified bank account.
- Shopify Products → shipped directly from your connected store.
- Tango Gift Cards → emailed directly to their inbox.
You can also include incentive details in messages using merge tags, which personalize information (like reward amount or product name) for each creator.
Tips for New Users
- Start simple — try one incentive type first (e.g., Stripe or Shopify) before layering others.
- Keep incentive values consistent to streamline ROI analysis.
- Mark incentives Fulfilled as soon as they’re complete to trigger cost reporting.
- Use Later’s integrations (Stripe, Shopify, and Tango Card) to save time and reduce manual errors.
