    Compensating Creators: Stripe Incentives

    Cash payments through Stripe let you pay creators directly through Later Influence via bank transfer.

    With the Stripe integration, you can manage, send, and track payments in one place — no manual uploads or external payment systems needed.

    Create a Stripe Incentive

    1. Create a new campaign, or open an existing campaign (set to Draft mode to make changes).
    2. Setup → Incentives.
    3. Click the + icon to create a new incentive.
    4. Incentive Type: select Cash.
    5. How will you pay?: choose Direct Deposit via Stripe.
    6. What currency will this incentive be paid in? Select the currency creators will receive.
      • You’ll only see this option if Stripe Global Payments is enabled for your account. To enable this feature, contact your Account Executive.
      • If you select a currency other than USD, payments are converted from USD on the day of payout.
    7. How much cash will be paid to each creator? Enter the payment amount.
    8. Choose the Fulfillment workflow stage (Pre-Payment or Post-Payment), or leave it blank if you prefer to mark readiness manually.
    9. Click Save.
    Note: All brand-side payments are charged in USD. The exact amount creators receive will depend on the day’s exchange rate. To learn more, see Incentive Currency Details.

    Pay Creators with Stripe

    Stripe handles payments directly within Later Influence once Stripe has been enabled and the creator’s payout account is connected.

    You can pay creators individually or in bulk and track every payout in real time.

    Before You Pay

    Confirm the creator has connected their Stripe account:

    • Yellow exclamation (!) → The creator hasn’t verified their Stripe account yet

    How to Pay a Creator

    1. Go to the Workflow tab of your campaign.
    2. Locate the creator you want to pay.
    3. Click the |← arrow next to their name to open their profile.
    4. Open the Incentives tab.
    5. Locate the Stripe Cash incentive and click Pay.
    6. Confirm the payment amount and click Pay again in the dialog box.
    7. The payment will move to Initiated status.

    How to Bulk Pay Creators

    1. Go to your campaign’s Workflow tab.
    2. Move creators into the relevant payment workflow stage (Pre-Payment or Post-Payment).
    3. Select all creators you’d like to pay.
    4. Click Pay.
    5. Review all selected incentives before confirming payment.

    Tracking and Reviewing Payments

    Later Influence displays every payment’s real-time progress based on Stripe’s payout data.

    View All Incentives

    1. In your Later account, go to the Incentives section from the left sidebar.
    2. Use filters to view all campaign payments and their statuses.

    View a Specific Creator’s Payments

    1. Go to the Workflow tab of your campaign.
    2. Locate the creator you've paid.
    3. Click the |← arrow next to their name to open their profile.
    4. Open the Incentives tab.

    Status Definitions

    Status What it means

    Initiated

    Payment started successfully in Later Influence; Stripe has received the transfer instruction.

    In transit

    Funds are being transferred to the creator’s connected bank account. This usually takes 1–2 business days.

    Deposited

    Payment successfully landed in the creator’s account.

    Deposit failed

    The payout couldn’t be completed (e.g., invalid or closed account). Stripe automatically retries the next business day. Contact the creator to confirm banking details if needed.

    Reversed

    The payment was withdrawn after being deposited (rare).

    Failed

    Payment could not be initiated (e.g., insufficient funds or Stripe account issue).
    Note: If a payout remains “In transit” for more than 3 business days, the recipient’s bank may still be processing the deposit. If it exceeds 5 business days, contact Support.

    Payment History

    To see the detailed payment history:

    1. Go to the Workflow tab of your campaign.
    2. Locate the creator you've paid.
    3. Click the |← arrow next to their name to open their profile.
    4. Open the Incentives tab.
    5. Click View Details next to the incentive.
    6. Review the Payment History Timeline for timestamps, transaction IDs, and status updates.

    Automation & Reporting

    Once a Stripe incentive is marked Fulfilled:

    • The creator automatically moves to the Complete workflow stage.
    • The payment is included in cost and ROI reporting.
    • CPE, CPM, and CPP metrics refresh automatically.

    Common Questions About Stripe Incentives

    Where or how does a creator set up their Stripe account?

    Creators connect or create their Stripe account directly through their Campaign Manager in Later Social.

    To do this, they should:

    1. Open the campaign in Later Social.
    2. Scroll to the Incentive Details section.
    3. Click Connect Stripe (or Complete Stripe Onboarding, if prompted).

    How long does it take for creators to receive Stripe payments?

    Most creators receive funds within 1–2 business days after the payment status changes to Deposited. First-time payouts may take up to 7 business days due to Stripe’s account verification process.

    Can I cancel a Stripe payment after it’s initiated?

    No. Once a payment is initiated, it cannot be canceled. If it fails, Stripe will handle retries automatically.

    What happens if a creator changes their bank account?

    Stripe will mark the payment as Deposit failed. Once the creator updates their bank info, Stripe will retry automatically.

    Can I send payments in currencies other than USD?

    Yes. Later supports global payouts via Stripe. All brand charges occur in USD, and Stripe converts funds on payout. Learn more here: Incentive Currency Details

    What if a creator hasn’t connected Stripe yet?

    They’ll be unable to receive funds. The payment will show as “Unpaid.” Encourage them to connect via their Campaign Manager in Later Social.

    Why hasn’t a payment moved past “In transit”?

    This means the recipient’s bank is still processing the deposit. Delays beyond 5 business days should be escalated to Support.

    How can I verify a failed payment was retried?

    Go to Incentives → View Details for the transaction timeline.
