    When your campaign includes a cash incentive paid via Stripe, creators must connect and verify a Stripe account before they can receive payment.

    This FAQ helps you troubleshoot issues, explain the setup process clearly, and spot common mistakes creators make.

    How Creators Connect Stripe

    Creators follow one of two paths depending on whether they already have a Stripe account.

    If they already have a Stripe account If they need to create a new Stripe account

    They will:

    1. Open their Campaign Manager → Incentive Details
    2. Click Complete
    3. A Stripe window opens. They select their existing Stripe account or enter the email tied to it.

    Then submit verification.

    They will:

    1. Open their Campaign Manager → Incentive Details → Complete
    2. Follow Stripe’s onboarding prompts:
      • Email + phone number
      • Type of business (most creators = Individual)
      • Provide required personal or business info
      • Connect their bank account for payouts
    3. Confirm their email from Stripe

    Common Issues & How You Can Help Creators Fix Them

    Stripe isn’t opening

    Usually caused by pop-up blockers.

    Ask the creator to:

    • Disable pop-up blockers
    • Try a private/incognito window

    Creator sees “Restricted” in Stripe

    This means Stripe needs additional personal information before payouts can be sent.

    Have them:

    1. Open Stripe via their Campaign Manager
    2. Scroll to Personal details → Edit
    3. Complete missing identity verification fields
    4. Double-check date of birth (a common error)
    5. Save and return to Later

    Example messaging you can share with creators:

    Before we can send your campaign payment, please complete Stripe setup:

    1. Open your Campaign Manager (via the email link)
    2. Scroll to “Incentive Details”
    3. Click “Complete”
    4. Follow the steps Stripe provides
    5. Confirm your email from Stripe
    6. Return to Later and refresh
    7. If you see “Restricted,” open Stripe and complete all missing ID fields.

    If Stripe doesn’t open, disable pop-up blockers.

    Creator connected Stripe, but Later still shows “Not completed”

    Common causes include:

    • Stripe onboarding wasn’t fully submitted
    • Required fields were left incomplete
    • Email not confirmed with Stripe

    Ask them to click Complete again from Incentive Details and follow all prompts. If issues continue, they should reach out to Support at campaign.help@later.com.

    Creator used the wrong info and wants to start over

    They can restart onboarding only if they have NOT received any payments yet.

    Steps for creators:

    1. Campaign Manager → Incentive Details
    2. Click Restart

    If they have been paid, they must contact Support at campaign.help@later.com.

    FAQs You Can Share With Creators

    Do my Stripe email and Later email need to match?

    No. They can be different — the creator just needs access to the email they use for Stripe.

    Who receives the 1099 tax form?

    Stripe sends 1099s directly to creators who earn $600+ per year. Later does not issue tax forms.

    Can Later support fix Stripe issues?

    No — Stripe controls all verification, identity, and banking processes. Later cannot modify Stripe accounts, but our Support team can help investigate any issues.
