Managing creator content in Later Influence is central to campaign success. This FAQ combines everything you need to know about how content is collected, when it appears, how metrics update, and what to do if a post doesn’t bind automatically.
How does Later collect creator content?
There are four ways:
-
Automatic Binding: Posts with your campaign’s binding hashtag flow in automatically when the creator’s account is connected.
- Best for: Instagram posts, Reels, Stories.
- TikTok Posting Links: Creators upload via a unique Posting Link (hashtags not required). Videos bind to the campaign after processing.
- Self-Reporting: Creators submit links or high-res files for items that can’t be auto-collected (e.g., YouTube, blogs, Twitch, Snapchat), or when you want unposted UGC for repurposing.
- Manual Binding: You add the post yourself (safety net when a hashtag was missed or an API sync failed).

What do I need for Instagram Automatic Binding to work?
- Campaign status: The campaign is Live.
- Workflow: The creator is past Applied (e.g., Confirmed, Content Creation).
- Account connection: The creator has authenticated the relevant social account in Later Social.
- Binding hashtag: Present at original publish time (not added later via edit where the network/API won’t attribute).
- Campaign due date: Not expired (see “Due date passed” below).
How long does it take for creator content to appear in my campaign?
Most content appears in Later within 24–48 hours of publishing. Network APIs refresh on different schedules, so timing can vary.
- Instagram (Posts & Reels): Typically within a few hours after publication.
- Instagram Stories: Appears during the story lifetime (see special rules below).
- TikTok via Posting Link: Binds to the campaign after TikTok processing completes (typically 48 hrs).
- Pinterest: Typically within 24 hours.
How long will metrics collect and be updated once content is published?
When content is bound and the creator’s account remains connected, performance metrics (impressions, views, likes, comments, saves, clicks—where available) refresh automatically via API.
- Instagram Posts & Reels: up to 7 days
- Instagram Stories: 24 hours (Stories expire after 24h)
- Pinterest Pins: up to 90 days
- TikTok Videos: up to 21 days (or until there are 30 newer posts by the creator.)
Do performance metrics include both organic and paid results?
The metrics Later Influence can display, depend on what each social network’s API makes available:
-
Instagram → The Instagram Graph API only provides organic performance metrics (likes, comments, impressions, reach).
- Later can report on paid Instagram performance, IF:
- You connect your Ads Account: Paid Media: Connecting Meta Business Assets to Later Influence
- AND you boost your Later Influence campaign content through that Ad Account
- TikTok → The TikTok Creator Marketplace API provides organic performance metrics (e.g., views, likes, comments, shares).
Why didn’t my Instagram Story bind into my campaign?
- The creator’s Instagram account must be authenticated and connected while the Story is live.
- The binding hashtag must be typed as text (stickers or later edits may not be attributed by the API).
- Story Highlights are not supported for binding.
Do edited captions or Instagram Collab posts bind correctly?
- Edited captions: Adding the binding hashtag after initial publish does not trigger binding.
- Collab posts: A single collab post can only bind to one creator record; metrics are counted once in the campaign.
What happens when my campaign's due date passes?
Automatic content binding stops after the due date. You’ll see a banner in the campaign’s Content tab indicating binding is paused.
What happens if a creator disconnects their social account?
- Automatic binding and metric refresh stop.
- Ask the creator to reconnect their account in Later Social.
- Any posts published while disconnected must be self-reported or manually bound.
Can I collect creator content that wasn’t published to social media?
Yes. Creators can self-report high-resolution photos and videos for repurposing (ads, email, webpages) even if they didn’t publish on social.
How do I manually bind content if it didn’t pull in automatically?
- Open your campaign and go to the Workflow tab.
- Find the creator and click the |← button to open their profile.
- Go to the Content tab and select Add Content.
- Choose the content type (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, YouTube), enter the post URL and publish date, and add any available metrics.
- Click Save to bind the content.
Where can I review all creator content collected in my campaign?
All bound, self-reported, and manually uploaded items appear in your campaign’s Content tab. From there you can filter and review performance in your content library.
