Collecting campaign content is a key part of running creator campaigns in Later Influence. It’s how posts, stories, videos, and other deliverables get pulled into your campaign so you can:
- Verify that creators posted as agreed.
- Track performance metrics (reach, engagement, conversions).
- Manage incentives (e.g., only pay when posts are complete).
- Build a content library of user-generated content (UGC) for reporting and repurposing.
Later Influence provides several options for capturing this content, depending on the platform, format, and campaign setup.
Four Ways Campaign Content is Collected
1. Automatic Binding (Instagram)
Content automatically flows into Later when:
- The creator has connected their social account.
- They post with the binding hashtag (the campaign’s unique hashtag).
Limitations & Notes
- Availability: Instagram (posts, stories, and reels) and Pinterest.
- Workflow stages: binding works for any creator past the Applied workflow stage.
-
Requirements:
- Binding hashtag is set — if the hashtag is missing, mis-typed, or edited after posting, the content will not auto-bind.
- Social profiles are authenticated — creators must authenticate their social accounts in Later Social; disconnected accounts prevent binding.
-
Instagram Stories
- The creator’s Instagram account must be connected when the story is live.
- The binding hashtag must appear as text in the story caption.
- Timing: content usually binds within a few hours. APIs refresh at different intervals; however, most content should be available within 24 hours of publication.
- Retroactive binding: posts made before a creator joined the campaign will not bind, even if they used the hashtag.
- FTC hashtags: posts missing FTC disclosures (e.g., #ad, #sponsored) will still bind but will be flagged for review.
2. TikTok Posting Links
TikTok content works differently from other networks. It does not rely on binding hashtags. Instead, creators use a Posting Link:
- The link is unique to each campaign.
- Creators must upload their video using the Posting Link, which automatically tags the post as branded content and ties it to your campaign.
- If they miss this step, they can retroactively link a video.
TikTok videos uploaded via Posting Link are bound to the campaign automatically within 48 hours.
3. Self-Reporting (Creator uploads)
Not all content types can be automatically pulled. For example, YouTube videos or blog articles require self-reporting.
With self-reporting, creators upload their content links directly into their campaign dashboard in Later Social. This ensures:
- You can verify their posts even if automatic binding isn’t possible.
- Metrics are still tracked where available.
Content requiring self-reporting: YouTube Shorts/Videos, Facebook Posts, Twitch Streams, Snapchat Stories, LinkedIn Posts, Blog Posts, Product Reviews.
4. Manual Binding (You upload)
Sometimes you’ll need to step in and bind content yourself, for example if:
- A creator forgot the binding hashtag.
- A post didn’t sync properly from the API.
- You need to add content from outside the platform (e.g., screenshots, blogs).
Manual binding is a safety net to ensure nothing is missed.
How to manually upload content from a creator to your campaign
- Open your campaign and go to the Workflow tab.
- Find the relevant creator and click the |← button to open their profile.
- Select the Content tab.
- Click Add Content.
- In the pop-up window:
- Type: Select the platform (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, YouTube).
- Post Date: Enter the date the content was published.
- URL: Paste the direct link to the content.
- If the creator hasn’t authenticated their account, you can manually enter:
- Reach
- Average engagements
- Average engagement rate (%)
- Under Performance, enter any available metrics (likes, comments, views).
- If performance metrics appear automatically, review them and continue. If not, enter the performance metrics which are visible on the post.
- If the content type includes a field for Impressions, leave it blank and the platform will estimate the number of impressions received.
- Click Save to bind the content.
How to edit content within a campaign
Content that has already been bound to a campaign can be edited, whether it was bound automatically, manually, or via self-reporting.
- Open your campaign and go to the Workflow tab.
- Find the relevant creator and click the |← button to open their profile
- Select the Content tab.
- Locate the relevant post in the list of content that has been bound and click the pencil icon on the far right.
-
All fields can be edited, excluding Type, Post Date, and Account.
- Edit image or video: Click on the existing image or click in the blank image field and upload a file.
- Edit caption or title: Edit the text in the Title/Caption field.
- Edit performance metrics
- Click Save.
Automatic Metric Updates
Content typically appears in Later Influence within 24–48 hours of being published. Once the creator’s account is connected, performance metrics (impressions, likes, comments, shares) automatically update via API.
Metrics are refreshed for the following timeframes:
- Instagram Posts → 1 week
- Instagram Reels → 1 week
- Instagram Stories → 24 hrs (since stories expire after 24h)
- Pinterest Posts → 90 days
- TikTok Posts → 21 days
