An incentive is any payment or gift provided to influencers for their participation in a campaign.
All incentives have an incentive fulfillment status. Fulfillment statuses are used to accurately report costs, track progress against a budget, and ensure that incentives are fulfilled at the right time.
For an overview of all incentive functionality, see Incentives Overview.

Incentive Fulfillment Definition
Fulfilling an incentive indicates that the payment or gift has been provided to the influencer.
Integrated Fulfillment: Pay influencers through the platform.
- Later Influence™ (formerly Mavrck) offers two integrations to fulfill incentives entirely within the platform: cash payments via PayPal or Stripe and gift card payments via Tango Card.
- When these incentive types are fulfilled, transactions are created with the payment partner, and real funds are delivered to the influencer.
Offline Fulfillment: Manage payments outside the platform.
- All other incentive types are considered offline incentives, including product incentives, promo codes, manual cash and gift card payments, and other.
- When offline incentives are fulfilled in Later Influence, there is no direct link to actual funds or delivery to influencers. The fulfillment of offline incentives is an indicator used to track costs and progress towards completion.
Incentive Fulfillment Statuses
Incentive fulfillment statuses are updated as influencers progress through the campaign workflow. Fulfillment statuses may be updated automatically or manually.
There are five incentive fulfillment statuses:
- Pending: Incentive has been assigned to an influencer, but is not ready to be fulfilled yet.
- Ready: Incentive is ready to be fulfilled, because the influencer has satisfied the criteria.
- Fulfilled: Incentive has been fulfilled.
- Rejected: Incentive has been revoked from the influencer and will not be fulfilled.
- Draft: Incentive has been assigned to an influencer, but they are not in the Participants phase of the workflow.*
*The Draft fulfillment status may also appear as a blank field. There are two reasons an incentive may have the Draft fulfillment status: an influencer is added to the Candidates phase of a campaign with a campaign-level incentive, or, an influencer is dropped from a campaign. See more information in the process section below.
Archival Status
Separately, incentives can also be archived and unarchived, no matter their fulfillment status. An incentive's archival status is unrelated to its fulfillment status.
Archiving incentives is recommended when you have campaigns that have been complete for a long time. Incentives can be un-archived at any time.
Fulfillment Status and Cost Reporting
All cost metrics are calculated using Fulfilled incentives.
Ready, Draft, Pending, and Rejected incentives are excluded from all cost metrics as only paid content bound to a creator is used for calculations.
See Incentive & Cost Reporting for additional detail.
Incentive Fulfillment Process
The basic process to fulfill incentives includes three steps, detailed below. Click each step to expand additional details.
Assignment: Incentives assigned to influencers.
Fulfillment status set to: Pending or Draft
There are three ways to set up incentives: campaign-level, influencer-specific, or rate. Once incentives are created, they are assigned to the relevant influencers in the campaign.
Readying: Incentives are ready to be fulfilled when influencers meet certain criteria.
Fulfillment status set to: Ready
Readying an incentive indicates that the influencer has met the criteria to receive payment. This typically occurs automatically when influencers reach a key stage of the workflow, but may be manual as well.
An incentive's fulfillment status must be set to Ready before it can be Fulfilled.
Readied automatically
Most incentives are associated with a workflow stage when they are set up, and the fulfillment status is automatically set to Ready when the influencer reaches the relevant stage, either Pre-Payment or Post-Payment.Readied manually
Incentives can also be readied manually. If an incentive is not associated with a workflow stage, it must be readied manually. There are two ways to ready incentives manually, detailed below.-
Ready incentives from the Incentives tab
Ready any number of incentives at once, including across multiple campaigns.- Open the Incentives tab from the main menu on the left side of the screen.
- Filter for the relevant incentives (i.e. Campaign, Type, Status).
- Select the incentives you wish to edit using individual checkboxes or the Select All checkbox.
- Click Edit Field at the top of the page.
- Select Fulfillment Status.
- Select Ready.
- Click Edit.
-
Ready incentives from an influencer's campaign details
Ready individual incentives associated with a specific influencer within a campaign.- Open the Workflow tab of the relevant campaign.
- Locate the relevant influencer in the list and click the arrow icon next to their profile to open their campaign details.
- Open the Incentives tab of their campaign details.
- Click the ... button to the right of the relevant incentive.
- Click Set to Ready.
Fulfillment: Incentives are fulfilled and received by influencers.
Fulfillment status set to: Fulfilled
Once an incentive has been readied, it can be fulfilled.
When integrated incentives are fulfilled, transactions are created with the payment partner, and real funds are delivered to the influencer. Additional details about integrated fulfillment are included in the following articles: PayPal, Stripe & Tango Card
When offline incentives are fulfilled, the status is updated in the platform.
There are several ways to fulfill Ready incentives. See Fulfill incentives in bulk for screenshots.
-
Fulfill incentives in bulk from the workflow
Fulfill incentives for any number of influencers in the same workflow stage of a campaign. With this method, only one fulfillment method can be used at a time. If there are multiple incentive types to be fulfilled, repeat the process for each one.- Open the Workflow tab of the relevant campaign.
- Open the relevant workflow stage, either Pre-Payment or Post-Payment.
- Select the influencers you wish to pay.
- Select which fulfillment method to use, if applicable.
- Review the readied incentives and confirm available funds, if applicable.
- Click Pay.
-
Fulfill incentives from the Incentives tab
Fulfill any number of incentives at once, including across multiple campaigns.- Open the Incentives tab from the main menu on the left side of the screen.
- Filter for the relevant incentives (i.e. Campaign, Type, Status).
- Select the incentives you wish to edit using individual checkboxes or the Select All checkbox.
- Click Edit Field at the top of the page.
- Select Fulfillment Status.
- Select Fulfilled.
- Click Edit.
- If incentives will be fulfilled using an integration, a confirmation message will appear. Review the transaction and click Pay.
-
Fulfill incentives from an influencer's campaign details
Fulfill any number of incentives associated with a specific influencer in one campaign.- Open the Workflow tab of the relevant campaign.
- Locate the relevant influencer in the list and click the arrow icon next to their profile to open their campaign details.
- Open the Incentives tab of their campaign details.
- Click Fulfill next to the relevant incentive(s).
- If the Fulfill button is disabled, the incentive has not been readied. Click the ... button to the right of Fulfill and select Set to Ready, then try again.
In some cases, incentives should not be fulfilled. When applicable, the fulfillment status of these incentives can be set to Rejected to prevent other users from sending any unintended payments.
Removal: Incentives should not be fulfilled.
Fulfillment status set to: Rejected or Draft
If an incentive should not be fulfilled, the fulfillment status can be set to Rejected to ensure it is not visible to influencers in the campaign manager. Rejected incentives remain visible in the influencer's campaign details within the workflow.
Dropping an influencer from a campaign does not set their incentives to the Rejected fulfillment status, but rather to Draft. Incentives with the Draft fulfillment status are hidden in the influencer's campaign details, as well as in the ICM. If an influencer is moved from Dropped back to another workflow stage, incentives will be hidden in their campaign details until the incentives are readied again.
Managing Fulfilled Incentives
Transactions
A transaction is created when an incentive is fulfilled using a payment integration. Transactions have transaction statuses, distinct from the fulfillment statuses of the incentives they are related to.
When a transaction's status is Pending or Complete, the related incentive's fulfillment status is Fulfilled and cannot be changed. When the transaction status is Failed, the fulfillment status of the related incentive reverts back to Ready and can be re-fulfilled with a new transaction.
See Transactions for additional detail.
Unfulfilling Incentives
Fulfilled incentives cannot be edited.
The fulfillment status of offline incentives can be changed from Fulfilled back to any other status, enabling you to edit other details. Incentives can be unfulfilled using the same steps outlined above to fulfill from an influencer's campaign details or the Incentives tab.
Integrated incentives like PayPal, Stripe, or Tango Card cannot be edited after they are fulfilled unless the transaction fails, as explained above.
