Set up your YouTube channel and deliverables before creators begin posting. Later automatically binds eligible YouTube Videos and Shorts to the relevant campaign deliverables and refreshes available insights.
Set Up Your YouTube Channel
Add a YouTube channel before you set up YouTube content deliverables. You can set a default channel for an instance or use a different channel for an individual campaign.
Set an Instance Default
Set a default YouTube channel when you usually run campaigns for the same brand channel.
- In Later Influence, select Settings
- Open the Branding sub-tab
- In YouTube Channel, enter your channel handle
- Select Save
Later validates the channel with YouTube. When the channel is valid, Later shows the confirmed channel name and channel ID.
For the full campaign setup workflow, see Create a New Campaign.
Use a Different Channel for One Campaign
You can replace the instance default when a campaign uses a different brand channel.
When you create or edit a campaign, the YouTube Channel field is pre-filled with the instance default, if you have set one.
To use a different channel, enter the brand handle in YouTube Channel, or select I don't have a YouTube channel for this brand. Then save your changes.
Add YouTube Content Deliverables
You can add YouTube content deliverables at the campaign level when every creator has the same YouTube content requirements.
Use campaign-level deliverables when every creator has the same requirements. Assign deliverables individually when creators have different requirements.
To add YouTube content deliverables at the campaign level:
- In Later Influence, open your campaign and select the Setup tab
- Select Deliverables, then select + Add Deliverable
- Choose YouTube Video or YouTube Short and fill in the deliverable details
- In Hashtags for Content Deliverables, enter the campaign’s YouTube Binding Hashtag
- Select Save
Creators need to use this exact hashtag in the caption of their YouTube Video or YouTube Short. Later uses it to identify eligible campaign content.
If creators need different deliverables, see Assigning Deliverables to a Creator.
Prepare Creators for YouTube Deliverables
Before creators post, make sure they know to connect their YouTube channel, use the exact YouTube Binding Hashtag, and check Live Deliverables after publishing.
If a creator adds the YouTube Binding Hashtag after publishing, Later can automatically bind the video during the next collection check, which may take up to two hours.
For creator-facing instructions, see Post YouTube Videos and Shorts for Campaigns in Later Social.
Automated Content Collection Process
To automatically import YouTube Videos or Shorts, ensure the following requirements are met:
- The creator is confirmed for the campaign, and their YouTube channel is connected
- A YouTube Video or Short is published for the campaign containing the exact YouTube Binding Hashtag in its caption
You can review automatically bound content in the campaign's Content tab.
Troubleshoot Missing YouTube Content
A Creator's Video Hasn't Appeared
First, check that the creator is:
- Confirmed for the campaign
- Their YouTube channel is connected
- Their video is a YouTube Video or YouTube Short for the campaign
- The video caption includes the exact YouTube Binding Hashtag
Allow up to two hours for a later collection check after the creator publishes the video or updates its caption.
If the video still does not appear after the next collection check, contact Later Support and include the campaign name, creator name, video URL, and YouTube Binding Hashtag.
