Incentives are the rewards you give creators for participating in your campaigns — cash payments, products, gift cards, promo codes, or custom rewards. Later Influence lets you create, assign, track, and fulfill all incentive types in one place.
All incentives follow the same basic flow: setup, fulfillment, and reporting.
Incentive Types
| Type | What it's for | How it's delivered |
| Cash (Stripe) | Direct bank transfer via Later | Automatically via Stripe |
| Cash (Offline) | Tracking external payments (PayPal, ACH, wire) | Paid outside Later, tracked manually |
| Product | PR packages, samples, or gifts | Shipped manually or via Shopify |
| Promo Code | Discounts or comped orders | Uploaded from your e-commerce system |
| Gift Card | Store credits or prepaid cards | Manually or via Tango Card |
| Other | Custom rewards (travel, events, reimbursements) | Manual tracking |
Integrations
Later Influence integrates with Stripe, Shopify, and Tango Card to automate incentive delivery. For full details on each integration, see Compensating Creators: Stripe Incentives, Shopify Codes, and Tango Card Integration: Gift Card Incentives.
Setup
Incentives are always created within a campaign and linked to specific creators. There are three setup methods:
- Campaign-level: the same incentive for all creators in the campaign. See Assigning Incentives: Create and Configure Creator Rewards.
- Creator-specific: individual incentives assigned per creator. See Assigning Incentives: Create and Configure Creator Rewards.
- Rate-based: creators propose their own rates during the application. See Rates and Concepts.
Fulfillment Statuses
Each incentive moves through fulfillment statuses as creators progress through your campaign workflow:
- Pending: assigned but not yet ready to fulfill
- Ready: criteria met; incentive can now be fulfilled
- Fulfilled: delivered to the creator
- Rejected: revoked; will not be fulfilled
- Draft: assigned to a creator in the Candidates phase, or creator has been Dropped
For the full fulfillment process, see Incentive Fulfillment.
Budget Tracking
The Budgets tab in the Incentives section provides a real-time view of how spending tracks against your campaign budgets. See Tracking Incentive Spending in the Budgets Tab.
Reporting
Cost metrics (CPE, CPM, CPP) are calculated from Fulfilled incentives only. Ready, Pending, Draft, and Rejected incentives are excluded from cost calculations. See How Later Influence Calculates and Reports Incentive Costs.
