Adding creators to a campaign and inviting them to apply are two related but distinct actions: you can add creators silently first, then invite them selectively.
This article explains how to perform these platform actions and what happens at each step.
Add Creators
There are three ways to add creators to a campaign.
From the Influencers tab
- In Later Influence, select Influencers from the left sidebar
- Search or filter for creators who meet your criteria
- Select creators using their checkboxes, or use select all using the checkbox at the top of the page
- Select + Campaign, type the campaign name, and select it
- Select OK
From the Search tab within a campaign
- In Later Influence, open your campaign and select the Search tab
- Apply filters or keyword search to find creators
- Select creators using their checkboxes
- Select + Campaign and confirm
From a creator's Lightbox profile
- In Later Influence, select any creator's profile image to open their Lightbox
- Select Add to Campaign in the upper right corner
Where Creators Land
Creators added to a campaign land in the first enabled workflow stage—typically Invited or Candidates. If your workflow starts with Candidates, creators appear there until you promote them. If your workflow starts with Invited, they appear in the Invited stage immediately.
Invite Creators
Inviting sends the campaign invitation message, prompting creators to submit an application. Creators move to the Applied stage automatically once they complete the application.
Send the invitation template manually
- In Later Influence, open your campaign and select the Workflow tab
- Select the relevant stage (Invited or Candidates)
- Select the creators you want to invite
- Select Message above their name and choose the Invitation template
Automate invitations on stage entry
Set the Invitation message template to Automatic: Stage Entry → Invited in your campaign's message templates. Creators then receive the invitation automatically as soon as they're added to the Invited stage. See Message Templates for more details.
What Happens at Each Step
After creators are added
Creators appear in the first enabled workflow stage. They do not automatically receive any notification unless you have an automated message template configured for that stage.
After creators are invited
Creators receive your invitation message (if sent manually or configured to send automatically). The message includes a link to apply. Creators then fill out your campaign application, which may include questions, required social account authentication, and other custom fields.
Once creators submit the application, they automatically move to the Applied stage, where you can review their details and decide whether to accept or decline them.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I add and invite at the same time?
Yes, if your Invitation template is set to automatic. Creators receive the invitation as soon as they're added to the Invited stage.
Does "Add to Campaign" notify the creator?
Not automatically — only if the Invitation template is set to send automatically at the Invited stage. Otherwise, you must send the invitation manually.
What if I add a creator by mistake?
Select them in the Workflow tab and select Drop to remove them from the campaign. Their status in the campaign changes to Dropped, but they remain in your database.
Can a creator be in multiple campaigns?
Yes. Because each campaign's workflow, deliverables, and due dates are tracked separately, a creator can participate in multiple campaigns simultaneously.
Why can't I promote a creator past the Applied stage?
Creators must have opted in to your program (become a member) before they can be promoted past the Candidates phase. If they were manually added to Applied without applying, check their History tab for details.
Creators without email addresses can still be promoted once they've authenticated their social accounts through the application process.
