The campaign workflow supports two types of automation: automatic message delivery and automatic creator promotion between stages. This article covers both.
Message Template Automation
Message templates can be set to send automatically when a creator enters a workflow stage, or based on a date. This saves time on manual outreach and keeps communication consistent.
For step-by-step setup instructions, see Message Templates: How to Keep Creators Informed. For suggested automation configurations by campaign type, see Recommended Workflow Setups.
Automatic Promotion Between Stages
Some stages are designed to move creators automatically when a condition is met. Others always require manual promotion.
Automatic promotions
| Trigger | What happens |
| Creator submits a campaign application | Creator automatically enters Applied |
| Creator confirms participation | Creator automatically moves to the stage after Confirmation |
| Creator opts out of Confirmation | Creator automatically moves to Dropped |
| All Pre-Payment or Post-Payment incentives fulfilled via Stripe or Tango Card | Creator automatically moves to the next stage |
| Creator submits all required drafts | Creator automatically enters Draft Review |
| All required content deliverables are tracked | Creator automatically moves out of Content Creation |
Important:
- Automation will never move a creator backward. If a creator has already passed a stage when a condition is met, they stay where they are.
- Custom stages never trigger automatic promotion. Creators in custom stages must always be promoted manually.
Payment Stage Automation
When all incentives associated with a payment stage (Pre-Payment or Post-Payment) are fulfilled through Stripe or Tango Card, the creator is automatically promoted to the next stage.
Incentives fulfilled manually — product shipments, offline cash payments, promo codes, gift cards handled outside the platform — don't trigger auto-promotion. You'll need to promote those creators manually.
