Collecting campaign content is how posts, stories, videos, and other deliverables get pulled into your campaign. It lets you verify that creators posted as agreed, track performance metrics, manage incentives, and build a library of user-generated content (UGC) for reporting and repurposing.
Later Influence provides four ways to capture content, depending on the platform, format, and campaign setup.
Four Ways Campaign Content is Collected
1. Automatic Binding (Instagram and Pinterest)
Content automatically flows into Later when the creator has connected their social account and posts using the campaign's binding hashtag.
Requirements:
- The campaign must be Live
- The creator must be past the Applied workflow stage
- The creator's social account must be authenticated in Later Social
- The binding hashtag must be present at original publish time — if it's missing or misspelled the post won't auto-bind
- The campaign's due date must not have passed
In most cases, Creators only need to authenticate via Instagram to bind content and pull performance insights. The exception is Partnership Ads: if you request Partnership Ads on a specific piece of live content, the creator will need to authenticate with Facebook for that step.
For Instagram Stories, the creator's account must be connected while the story is live. The binding hashtag must appear as text in the story caption as stickers won't trigger binding. Story Highlights are not supported.
Content usually binds within a few hours. Most content is available within 24 hours of publication.
Retroactive binding doesn't apply. Posts made before a creator joined the campaign won't bind even if they used the hashtag. Posts missing FTC disclosures (such as #ad or #sponsored) will still bind but will be flagged for review.
2. TikTok Posting Links
TikTok content doesn't use binding hashtags. Instead, creators use a campaign-specific Posting Link that automatically tags the post as branded content and ties it to your campaign. If a creator misses this step, they can retroactively link a video from their Campaign Manager. TikTok videos uploaded via Posting Link bind within 48 hours.
See TikTok Content: Uploading, Binding, and Reporting for more detail.
3. Self-Reporting (Creator uploads)
Content types that can't be automatically pulled — such as YouTube videos, Facebook posts, or blog articles — require self-reporting. Creators upload their content links directly into their Campaign Manager in Later Social.
Self-reporting can also be used to collect high-resolution images and videos for repurposing (ads, websites, email) even when they aren't posted to social media.
Content types requiring self-reporting:
- YouTube Shorts/Videos
- Facebook Posts
- Twitch Streams
- Snapchat Stories
- LinkedIn Posts
- Blog Posts
- Product Reviews
4. Manual Binding (Brand uploads)
You can manually bind content when a creator forgot the binding hashtag, a post didn't sync from the API, or you need to add content from outside the platform.
To manually upload a creator's content:
- In Later Influence, navigate to Campaigns from the left-hand sidebar
- Open the relevant campaign and select the Workflow tab
- Find the relevant creator and select the arrow icon to open their profile
- Select the Content tab, then select Add Content
- In the pop-up window, enter the content type, post date, caption, and URL
- Enter any available performance metrics
- Select Save to bind the content
Editing Bound Content
Content that has already been bound to a campaign can be edited regardless of how it was bound.
- Open the campaign's Workflow tab and select the the arrow icon next to the relevant creator
- Select the Content tab and select the pencil icon next to the post
-
Edit the fields as needed
Note: Type, Post Date, and Account can't be edited - Select Save
Automatic Metric Updates
Once a creator's account is connected, performance metrics update automatically via API for the following timeframes:
- Instagram Posts and Reels: up to 7 days
- Instagram Stories: 24 hours (stories expire after 24 hours)
- Pinterest Posts: up to 90 days
- TikTok Posts: up to 21 days
Metrics continue to refresh while the campaign is live and the creator's account remains connected.
