Later Influence gives you access to millions of creator profiles across Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat, YouTube, and more. This article covers how to access search, use keyword and filter tools, evaluate results, and find creators through similar search.
Accessing Influencer Search
In Later Influence, select Influencers from the left sidebar. You'll land on the Search tab, which contains a keyword search bar at the top and database and filter options in the left sidebar.
Choosing a Database
There are two databases to search:
- Influencer Index: Later Influence's global creator database, available to all users. Use this to discover new creators.
- My Members: Your private database of creators who have opted in to collaborate with your program. Use this to re-engage your community or apply campaign-specific filters like Application Responses.
Switch between databases from the left sidebar.
Keyword Search
Enter keywords in the search bar to find creators by topics, hashtags, locations, names, handles, or email addresses. Search results draw from publicly available Instagram bios and post captions.
After you start typing, search chips appear below the bar so you can choose where each keyword applies.
Multiple keywords use OR logic by default — entering "fitness, wellness" returns creators matching either term.
See Keyword Search Options for modifier syntax (+, -, ^, *) to refine further.
AI Search
AI Search, powered by OpenAI, automatically expands a single-term search to include semantically related keywords, hashtags, and emojis. Toggle it on or off using the wand icon next to the search bar.
AI Search only applies to single-term search queries. Wrap multi-word phrases in double quotes (for example, "certified nutritionist") to treat them as one term to avoid automatically disabling AI Search.
For a full FAQ on how AI Search works, see Keyword Search Options.
Similar Search
Similar Search finds creators whose profile and content are similar to a creator you already know. In the search bar, type similar: followed by an Instagram handle. The creator must already exist in the Influencer Index.
Valid query formats:
similar:@handle1similar:@handle1,@handle2similar:handle1,handle2
Leave no spaces in your query and separate multiple handles with commas. The @ symbol is optional.
Filters
For targeted filtering, select View All Filters. Active filters display at the top of the modal. Enabled filter categories are highlighted in the sidebar. Select Clear Filters to reset.
If your results are too narrow, broaden your criteria.

| Category | Available Filters |

Key Notes on Audience Filters
Audience data may be programmatically assigned or self-reported. Audience attributes like ethnicity are only available in My Members.
Viewing Results
Search results display as a list by default.
You can switch between List View and Grid View using the toggle in the upper-right corner of the results. Grid View shows more creators per screen in a compact visual format, useful for quickly scanning and comparing profiles.
To refresh a creator's data, open their profile in the Lightbox and select Refresh Creator. This triggers a fresh pull of their profile stats, content, audience insights, and brand safety data across all connected platforms.
Best Practices
- Start broad, then narrow. Begin with a few keywords and one or two filters. Check the result count, then layer on additional filters to refine.
- Use Similar Search to expand quickly. Find one strong match, then run
similar:@handleto surface comparable profiles. - Mix databases to discover net-new creators in the Influencer Index, then switch to My Members to re-engage proven partners.
- Validate audience quality. Enable the Audience Authenticity Flag and review Insights before shortlisting.
- Pair engagement rate with post frequency and audience alignment rather than relying on a single metric.
- Save your work. Store finalists in named Lists (for example, "Q4 Gifting – Beauty US") so you can recall them quickly for future campaigns.
- Check brand suitability early. Run suitability checks on shortlisted creators before outreach to avoid late-stage surprises. See Brand Suitability: How to Evaluate Creator–Brand Fit.
