Later Influence gives you access to millions of creator profiles across Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat, YouTube, and more.
Creator Discovery helps you find creators that match your campaign goals, evaluate potential partners, and build shortlists before outreach begins. Whether you’re recruiting for a single campaign or building a long-term creator program, this is where the sourcing process starts.
Accessing Influencer Search
In Later Influence, select Influencers from the left sidebar. You'll land on the Search tab, which contains a keyword search bar at the top and database and filter options in the left sidebar.
Choosing a Database
Before searching, choose which creator database you’d like to work from.
Influencer Index
The Influencer Index is Later Influence’s global creator discovery database.
Use it when you’re looking for new creators who haven’t yet joined your program.
The Influencer Index includes creators with and without contactable email addresses. Depending on the information available, you may still be able to review profile information, audience insights, content performance, and Brand Safety data before deciding whether to recruit a creator.
My Members
My Members contains creators who already have a relationship with your brand.
This includes creators who:
- Applied to one of your campaigns
- Completed your onboarding form
- Participated in previous campaigns
- Joined your creator community
Use My Members when recruiting existing creator partners, re-engaging past participants, or filtering creators using application responses and custom creator properties.
A common workflow is to discover creators in the Influencer Index, then continue managing those relationships through My Members once creators join your program.
Search by Keyword
The search bar allows you to search for creators by topics, hashtags, locations, names, social handles, and email addresses.
Search results are generated from publicly available creator information, including profile bios and content.
For example, you might search for:
- clean beauty
- marathon training
- vegan recipes
- parenting
- Chicago
Multiple keywords use OR logic by default. Searching for “fitness wellness” returns creators matching either term.
For advanced search syntax, including required keywords, exclusions, weighting, and partial matching, see Keyword Search Options.
Use AI Search
AI Search, powered by OpenAI, automatically expands a single-term search to include semantically related keywords, hashtags, and emojis.
Toggle AI Search on or off using the wand icon beside the search bar.
AI Search only applies to single-term searches. If you’d like to search for a multi-word phrase while keeping AI Search enabled, wrap the phrase in quotation marks.
For example:
- “certified nutritionist”
- “clean beauty”
- “vegan recipes”
This tells Later Influence to treat the phrase as a single search term. When AI Search is enabled, results aren’t limited to exact keyword matches.
For additional examples and FAQs, see Keyword Search Options.
Use Similar Search
Similar Search finds creators whose profile and content are similar to a creator you already know. Instead of starting a new search from scratch, you can use an existing creator as a starting point.
Enter one of the following formats into the search bar:
similar:@handlesimilar:handlesimilar:@handle1,@handle2
For example:
similar:@creatorname
Later Influence analyzes creator content and profile information to surface similar creators from the Influencer Index.
Similar Search is often one of the fastest ways to expand a creator shortlist after finding a strong initial match.
Understand Contactable Creators
The Influencer Index includes creators with and without contactable email addresses.
Use the Contactable filter to control whether search results include creators who have a contactable email address on file.
Creators without email addresses are included to expand creator discovery opportunities. They can still be valuable sourcing and vetting opportunities before recruitment begins.
Depending on the information available, you may still be able to:
- Review creator profiles
- Evaluate audience insights
- Analyze content performance
- Run Brand Safety reviews
- Save creators to Lists
If you’d like to work with a creator who doesn’t have a contactable email address, reach out through their public social channels and share your campaign application link or onboarding form.
Once the creator joins your program, they’ll appear in My Members and can participate in future campaigns.
Refine Results with Filters
After running an initial search, you can use filters to narrow your results. For targeted filtering, select View All Filters. Active filters appear at the top of the filter window, making it easy to see how your results are being narrowed.
If your search returns very few creators, consider removing filters one at a time to broaden the results.
Creator Filters
Creator filters help narrow results based on creator attributes and profile information.
Available filters include:
- Location
- Age
- Gender
- Ethnicity
- Content topics
- Lists
- Creator status
- Application responses
Application responses and creator properties are only available when searching within My Members.
Performance Filters
Performance filters help identify creators based on historical campaign and content performance.
Available filters include:
- Engagement rate
- Follower count
- Cost metrics
- Link performance
These filters can be particularly useful when building creator shortlists for performance-focused campaigns.
Social Platform Filters
You can filter creators based on their connected social profiles.
Supported platforms include:
- TikTok
- YouTube
- Snapchat
- X
You can also combine platform requirements. For example, if you need creators active on both Instagram and TikTok, enable both platform filters to narrow results accordingly.
Filter by Audience Data
Audience filters help identify creators whose followers align with your target audience. Audience data comes from authenticated creator accounts and third-party enrichment models.
Available audience filters include:
- Audience location
- Age
- Gender
- Language
- Ethnicity
- Education
- Occupation
- Income
- Brand affinity
- Audience authenticity
Not every creator has audience data available. When audience data is unavailable, those filters won’t apply to that creator profile.
Audience Location Filters
Audience location filters support custom minimum percentage thresholds.
For example, if you’re targeting creators whose audiences are primarily based in Canada, you can require that at least 40% of a creator’s audience be located there. This helps narrow results beyond simple creator location.
Review Search Results
Search results appear in either List View or Grid View.
List View provides more profile detail at a glance, while Grid View displays more creators on screen and is useful when reviewing large result sets.
Once you’ve identified a potential creator, open their profile to review additional information before recruitment begins.
Review Creator Profiles
Select a creator’s profile image to open the Influencer Lightbox, which provides a deeper view of the creator and their audience.
Depending on available data, you may be able to review:
- Recent content
- Audience insights
- Engagement metrics
- Audience authenticity indicators
- Compensation benchmarks
- Campaign history
- Application responses
- Brand Safety information
The Lightbox is designed to help you evaluate creator fit before outreach begins.
Evaluate Brand Safety
Brand Safety tools help identify potential risks before recruitment.
Depending on the creator and available data, you may be able to review:
- Audience authenticity indicators
- Content warnings
- Brand Suitability reports
- Historical creator activity
Reviewing Brand Safety information early in the sourcing process can help avoid late-stage surprises during campaign recruitment.
Save Creators to Lists
As you identify promising creators, save them to Lists.
Lists allow you to organize creators into reusable groups based on campaign goals, audience characteristics, or creator niche.
Examples include:
- Holiday Campaign
- Product Launch
- Fitness Creators
- Local Ambassadors
- Creator Wishlist
Lists make it easier to revisit creators without rebuilding searches later.
Best Practices
- Start broad, then narrow your search gradually.
- Use Similar Search once you’ve identified a strong creator match.
- Review creator profiles before beginning outreach.
- Run Brand Safety checks early in the sourcing process.
- Save promising creators to Lists as you go.
- Use the Contactable filter when your goal is immediate recruitment, and broaden results when your goal is discovery and sourcing.
