Later Influence uses social network API integrations to ingest content, performance data, and audience insights from social networks. Social network integrations are configured by the Later Influence team when your program is first created and no maintenance is required after that point.
Learn more about social network API integrations and the social apps that connect them with the platform below.
What is an API integration?
API stands for Application Programming Interface. In short, an API integration is a connection between different apps or products. API integrations are widespread and incredibly useful. Common API tools that you may already use in your day-to-day work include things like PayPal payments, Slack integrations, and single-sign-on services.
Most major social networks make their content available to marketing platforms and other collaborative tools by publishing their own API integrations.
Later Influence uses social network API integrations to enable influencers to authenticate their accounts with the platform, which in turn enables the platform to ingest their content and data from those networks.
Each social network defines and maintains its own API integrations, controlling what content is available. Social network APIs are continuously updated and the available data is subject to change by each network.
What social network API integrations does Later Influence use?
Later Influence is currently integrated with the Facebook Graph API, the Instagram API, the TikTok One API, and the Pinterest Analytics API.
What data is available from each social network API integration?

What is a social app?
Social apps, in this context, are technical applications created using social network developer tools that connect the user experience of a product that is integrated with a social network, like Later Influence, to the social network itself.
Influencers interact with social apps directly when they authenticate their accounts for campaign applications and ongoing participation.
When an influencer authenticates their account, an access token is generated or refreshed, which supports the platform to ingest information from their account. The length of time that an access token lasts and the way that it is refreshed varies by each network, but a typical campaign will only require influencers to connect one time during the application process.
All programs must be connected to social apps to function properly.
What social apps does Later Influence use?
Apps are used for every network with an API integration. Later Influence is currently integrated with the Facebook Graph API, the Instagram API, the TikTok One API, and the Pinterest Analytics API.
All programs must be connected to at least Facebook and Instagram. All other networks are optional and can be disabled and hidden from influencer view.
How do social apps appear to influencers?
The influencer-facing label for each social network app is listed below. App labels are subject to change.
- Facebook: Later
- Instagram: Later
- TikTok: Mavrck or Later
- Pinterest: Mavrck Analytics or Later
Why do Instagram accounts use a Facebook app to connect?
To power automatic content binding in campaigns, Instagram accounts must be connected via Facebook login. Content binding allows Later to fetch live Instagram posts and pull them into the platform so you can view and track performance. All creators have to do is post, and our system takes care of the rest. This process currently relies on Facebook authentication.
