Using application questions well helps you identify the right creators faster, strengthen reporting with comparable data points, and confirm eligibility upfront before committing to a collaboration.
Adding Questions to a Campaign Application
- In Later Influence, open your campaign and select the Setup tab.
- Select the Application sub-tab.
- Scroll to the Questions section.
- Select + Create New Application Question.
To reuse an existing property, select it from your saved list. To create a new one, select Create New Application Question and fill in:
- Internal name: Used for filtering and reporting (e.g., "Shoe Size")
- Question: What creators see on the application (e.g., "What shoe size would you like to receive?")
- Answer Format: Multiple-choice, checkbox, freeform text, number, or image
- Merge tag: Optional. Checking this creates a merge tag you can use in message templates (e.g., "Your sneakers in {{shoeSize}} have shipped")
Note: Supported image formats for survey questions are JPG, PNG, or TIF (max 20MB, 800x800px).
View Creator Responses
- Select a creator's profile image to open Lightbox
- Responses are listed under Application Questions
You can edit responses manually using the pencil icon. Creators can also update their own responses through the campaign manager in Later Social.
How Responses Are Stored
Each response is saved as a property on the creator's My Members profile. Properties carry over across campaigns — once a creator answers a question, that data persists and is available for future use.
To manage your saved properties, go to Settings and select Application Questions. From there, you can edit, add, archive, or reactivate application questions.
Filter by Application Responses
Filtering by Influencer Properties lets you narrow your creator pool based on the responses you've collected. For example, if you asked "Have you tried our product before?", you can filter for creators who answered "Yes."
- In Later Influence, open the relevant campaign.
- Navigate to the Search or Workflow tab.
- In the left sidebar, scroll to the Application Questions section.
- Select one or more properties to filter by. For multiple-choice or checkbox questions, you can select specific answer options.
Results update automatically to show only creators who match.
Export Response Data
Property data is included in two export types:
- Workflow exports: Always include responses from that campaign's application.
- Incentives tab exports: You can choose which properties to include.
Best Practices
- Use checkboxes and multiple-choice wherever possible — structured responses are easier to filter and compare than freeform text.
- Add merge tags to key questions so you can reference responses in automated messages (e.g., {{shoeSize}}, {{productPreference}}).
- Reuse properties across campaigns to avoid fragmented data.
