By default, emails sent through Later Influence™ (formerly Mavrck) appear from YourBrandName@brandmail.co.
By adding DNS records to your domain name provider, you can configure Later Influence to send and receive messages through a custom email address of your choice.
Our data has indicated that influencers are twice as likely to complete a campaign application sent from a private labeled email domain, compared to a brandmail.co address. For this reason, we encourage all programs to utilize a private labeled email domain when possible.
Setup time: 1-3 days, with the support of your IT team
There is no additional cost to use a custom email domain.
Setting up a custom email domain
-
Select a subdomain that is not already in use by your brand domain.
- We recommend a generic subdomain, such as email or collabs.
-
Decide on an email address that matches the Address@Subdomain.YourDomain.com format. Ideas include any combination of the following terms:
- Let your Implementation Manager know what email address you have decided on.
- The Later Influence team will send you three DNS CNAME records to add to your domain name hosting service. Provide these records to your brand's technical team.
- Let your Implementation Manager know when your technical team has successfully installed the records.
-
Later Influence will validate the proper installation of the records, then configure the platform to send and receive email using the selected address.
- Later Influence will send you a confirmation when the swap occurs.
- Any emails sent to your original brandmail.co address will continue to route into the platform.
Why must the email address include a subdomain?
Your normal domain is likely configured to route inbound mail to the mail delivery agent for your normal business email (e.g. Gmail, Outlook). Because your domain is already routed through another email provider, we must use a subdomain or additional domain that is not in use to support two-way communication via the platform.
Can I purchase a new domain to use instead of a subdomain?
Yes, as long as the domain that you select is used exclusively for email communications via Later Influence. The domain that you use cannot be used for any other email communications.
For example, this may look like hello@YourBrandAmbassadors.com or hello@BrandAmbassadorProgram.com.
I have multiple instances. Can I use the same domain for multiple email addresses?
Yes, as long as each address uses a unique subdomain.
For example, two instances that belong to the same parent company could use addresses like hello@collabs.brand.com and hello@ambassadors.brand.com.
Two instances cannot use the same subdomain, even if the address before the @ symbol is different.
