The campaign workflow can be configured in many ways depending on your goals. This article covers suggested configurations for four common campaign types. For step-by-step instructions on enabling, disabling, or adding stages, see Workflow Customization.
Curated Campaigns
Curated campaigns involve reviewing creators, confirming participation, and managing content through multiple rounds of review. The 12 default stages are designed with this campaign type in mind.
Suggestions:
Disable any stage you don't plan to use. The simpler the workflow, the easier it is for both your team and your creators. For example, if you're not sending product upfront, disable Pre-Payment. If you don't need draft review, disable Draft and Draft Review.
Only add mandatory deliverables in campaign setup. Creators must fulfill all campaign-level deliverables to move out of Draft and Content Creation automatically. If some deliverables are optional, assign those at the creator level instead.
Recommended message automation (with Draft Review):
| Template | Send Automatically |
| Invitation | At the Invited stage |
| Member Accepted | At the Confirmation stage |
| You're Confirmed | At the Pre-Payment stage |
| Draft Submission | At the Draft stage |
| Draft Needs Revisions | Each time a draft is marked "Needs Work" |
| Draft Approval | At the Content Creation stage |
| Draft Reminders 1 & 2 | Date-based, days before draft due date (limit to Draft stage) |
| Missing Content | Date-based, days after due date (limit to Content Creation stage) |
| Post Complete | At the Post-Payment stage |
Recommended message automation (without Draft Review):
| Template | Send Automatically |
| Invitation | At the Invited stage |
| Member Accepted | At the Confirmation stage |
| You're Confirmed | At the Pre-Payment stage |
| Posting Instructions | At the Content Creation stage |
| Post Reminder | Date-based, days before due date (limit to Content Creation stage) |
| Missing Content | Date-based, days after due date (limit to Content Creation stage) |
| Post Complete | At the Post-Payment stage |
Onboarding Campaigns
Onboarding campaigns are used to build your creator database. All creators who complete an application are added to your My Members database, where they can be added directly to future campaigns.
Suggested stages: Invited, Applied, Content Creation, Complete. Disable all others.
The Applied stage must be enabled for applications to work. Content Creation and Complete are required for all campaigns.
Suggestions:
- Create a custom "Application Received" message template and set it to send automatically at the Applied stage. This confirms receipt and sets expectations for next steps.
- If you want creators to submit a welcome post as part of the application, include instructions in the invitation message. Set deliverables accordingly and inform creators upfront.
Ambassador Programs
Ambassador programs work with a recurring pool of creators who post across multiple campaigns over time.
Suggested stages: Start at Confirmation, Pre-Payment, or Content Creation depending on your process.
Disable Candidates, Invited, and Applied as you already know who you're working with.
Suggestions:
- Disable any other stages you don't need. Ambassador programs typically run lean workflows.
- Set reminder templates to send automatically. Since ambassadors may be participating in multiple campaigns at once, automated reminders help ensure timely posting.
- Consider using a recurring onboarding campaign to add new ambassadors to your database before adding them to active campaigns.
Product-Only Campaigns
Product-only campaigns gift product to creators without a cash payment, relying on goodwill and product value to drive posting.
Suggested stages: Confirmation, Pre-Payment, Content Creation, Complete.
Disable Draft Review, but consider enabling Post Review.
Suggestions:
- Skip Draft Review, but use Post Review. Submitting drafts may feel like a high bar when creators are only receiving product. Post Review lets you check live content before closing the campaign, without asking creators for any additional input.
- Set reminder message templates to send automatically. Drop-off rates can be higher in product campaigns, so automated nudges help maintain momentum.
- Communicate clearly about what you're sending and when. Product shipment timing directly affects when creators can post, so keep messaging up to date.
