Tango Card Incentives

Gift cards are a great incentive option for ambassador and micro-influencer campaigns.

Gift cards can be created and fulfilled entirely within Later Influence™ (formerly Mavrck) using the Tango Card integration. You can also track offline gift card incentives, which rely on external processes to generate gift cards.

Tango Card Incentive Setup

Create Tango Card incentives

There are two ways to create Tango Card incentives. Click each option for step-by-step instructions.

Campaign-level: Create the same incentive for all influencers participating in the campaign.

Create a new campaign or navigate to an existing campaign, which must be in draft mode.
Open the Campaign setup tab then the Incentives sub-tab.
Click the + icon to create a new incentive.
Select Gift Card as the incentive type
Select Tango Card as the fulfillment option.
Select a card type from the Gift Card Option field.
- If you select a variable option, enter a value within the displayed range.
- If you select an option where the currency is not USD, review the cost in USD.
Select the Gift Card Template, if more than one option is available.
Select a workflow stage for Fulfillment or leave the field blank.
Click Save.

Influencer-specific: Create individual incentives for specific influencers.

Locate the influencer in the Workflow tab of the relevant campaign.
Click the arrow icon to the right of their name to open their campaign details.
Open the Incentives tab of their campaign details.
Click the + Add Incentive button to add a new incentive.
Select Gift Card as the incentive type.
Select Tango Card as the fulfillment option.
Select a card type from the Gift Card Option field.
- If you select a variable option, enter a value within the displayed range.
- If you select an option where the currency is not USD, review the cost in USD.
Select the Gift Card Template, if more than one option is available.
Select a workflow stage for Fulfillment or leave the field blank.
Click Save.

Setup form

When you create a Tango Card incentive, the setup form includes the following fields. Click on a field for more information.

Incentive type: Gift card

Fulfillment option: Tango Card

Cost & Value: Enter the value of the gift card and review the cost

Some incentive types include fields to enter both the retail value and actual cost to your brand. Tango Card incentives contain both cost and value, but only the value is customizable.

The value of a Tango Card incentive is set in the currency of the gift card option while cost is always set in USD amounts. The platform calculates the cost of the incentive as the value of the gift card converted to USD.

When a gift card incentive is created or edited, the cost in USD at that moment in time is displayed. When the incentive is fulfilled, the platform calculates the cost using the current conversion rate. The final cost at the time of fulfillment is displayed in the confirmation message and used for reporting.

Gift card option: Select which type of gift card to send

Gift card options include multiple currencies and fixed or variable amounts. Options are listed with the value type and currency code after the gift card name. For example:

Visa® Prepaid Card (Variable - USD)
Amazon.com.uk Gift Card (Variable - GBP)
REI eGift Card $100 (Fixed - USD)

Gift card email template: Choose the email template used to send payment

When you fulfill gift card incentives using the Tango Card integration, influencers receive payment via email from Rewards Genius. The message included with the payment is determined by the email template selected for the incentive. A non-branded template is available in Later Influence by default, or you can customize your own message.

If you're using Later Influence's Tango Card account, your CSM will work with you to customize and implement your own email template. If you're using your own Tango Card account, you can create templates in the Rewards Genius UI, which are pulled into Later Influence automatically whenever you create a new incentive.

Fulfillment: Enter the workflow stage when the payment will be ready to fulfill

When influencers enter the selected workflow stage, their incentives will be automatically "readied" for fulfillment. Payments are not fulfilled automatically when influencers enter the stage.

The Fulfillment field is optional for Tango Card incentives. If your workflow doesn't include payment stages, or you wish to manually Ready incentives, leave the field empty.

Fixed Value Gift Cards

Variable Value Gift Cards

The value of fixed gift card options cannot be edited. Most fixed value options are available in multiple amounts.

Create multiple incentives if necessary to reach the desired value.

i.e.

L.L. Bean eGift Card $50 (Fixed - USD)
L.L. Bean eGift Card $75 (Fixed - USD)

The value of variable gift card options can be set to any amount within the range displayed on-screen when the option is selected.

i.e.

Walmart eGift Card (Variable - USD)
- Please enter a value between $5.00 and $500.00
Target eGift Card (Variable - USD)
- Please enter a value between $1.00 and $2,000.00

Tango Card Incentive Fulfillment

When Tango Card incentives are fulfilled in Later Influence, influencers are automatically sent digital gift cards via email from Rewards Genius, the parent company of Tango Card. Gift cards are sent using the email template selected in the incentive setup.

Tango Card transactions are only created when they can be completed successfully. If a Tango Card transaction cannot be completed successfully, the incentive fulfillment status will remain "Ready".
