What survey questions should I include in my onboarding form?
- Including custom survey questions in your Influencer Onboarding Form is recommended, as it gives you a chance to collect and store data that is specifically relevant to your influencer database. Brands typically ask influencers questions such as collaboration interest questions to guide which types of campaigns influencers are invited to, and collaboration eligibility questions to ensure that the influencer is able to participate in your campaigns (e.g. if you are a cupcake company, you may not be able to work with someone who is gluten free). Below, we’ve included some thought starters for and examples of questions that may be valuable to include in your onboarding form:
Collaboration Interest / Preferences

- Internal Name: Collaboration Network Preference
- Question Example: “Which channels do you actively create and share content on? Select all that apply.”

- Question Type: Multiple Choice
-
Options:
- Yes, I live close to a retailer that sells [insert product].
- No, I don't live close to a retailer that sells [insert product].
Which accounts should I have my influencers connect?
- We recommend making Instagram the only mandatory account connection in the onboarding form because the Instagram API allows us to pull in and display audience insights from influencers who connect a business or creator Instagram account. As most content creators have an Instagram account (at a minimum), asking all creators to connect their Instagram account will help you build a robust and informative database of influencers that are interested in working with you. Other account connections such as Facebook, Pinterest, and Blog will be an optional part of the process. If you wish to have your influencers indicate their handle on a social network outside of the above, you can add that as an application survey question.
Should I set up any message templates?
-
As a best practice, we recommend that you customize the “application received” communication in your Onboarding Form campaign, in the Setup tab → Message Templates section. This message will be sent automatically to any individual who completes the Onboarding Form to confirm successful completion.
What are the steps of the influencer onboarding form?
- Your Influencer Onboarding Form includes the same steps as a campaign application, outlined below:
1. Initial account authentication - influencers connect their Facebook OR login with email to create an account within our brand’s database.2. Influencers fill out their demographic information, then click Confirm. By clicking Confirm, influencers are agreeing to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
2. Connect any social channels (required social channels for the campaign will be listed under “Required Accounts” at the top). Then click Continue. Influencers will not be able to Continue without connecting those accounts.
3. In some cases, you may ask additional application questions to learn more about influencers and collect data that will be helpful to your brand (required questions are denoted with an asterisk).
4. When influencers reach this page, they have officially submitted their form.
